A season that began with promise and huge expectations ended with little glory as the University of Wyoming Cowboy football lost their season finale losing to Utah State 35-7.

And now the rumblings will start. For a team that lost the Border War to rival Colorado State by the largest margin since a 40-0 defeat in 1925 and that is 5-27 in games against teams that finished the season with a winning record in Dave Christensen's tenure, the rumblings will start. Fire the coach. Fire the Athletic Director. Fire the school's President, oh wait he quit. The University of Wyoming Cowboy football team, in short, is not competitive in their own conference. The answer to this mess according to a recent study is more money. Ok. Or move to Division II. The coach said: “I don’t know that we’re that far away," "We’re going to have 18 starters from this team back next year. I can’t control injuries, but 11 kids that’d be playing today didn’t even make the trip. We’re going to get those guys back.http://www.gowyo.com/sports/m-footbl/wyo-m-footbl-body.html

The University of Wyoming football program has made coach Christensen a millionaire. I guess the fans will have to wait and see.
