Hot Springs, Washakie and Big Horn Counties Under Flood Warning
The National Weather Service in Riverton on Monday night issued two separate flood warnings for parts of Fremont, Hot Springs, Washakie and Big Horn Counties.
The warnings are expected to run through 1 a.m. Tuesday.
Impacted areas include Worland, Thermopolis and surrounding communities.
Areas in rural Fremont County are also under a flood warning including Boysen State Park, Lysite and Lost Cabin.
A separate flood warning was issued for southern Big Horn and Northern Washakie counties. Impacted areas include Manderson, Basin and Hyattville.
Monday's warnings come after Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain falling on already saturated soil.
The full warning can be found here.
Residents in affected areas are asked to turn around when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles, according to the National Weather Service.
