Cowgirls golf returns to Southern Utah Thunderbird Classic
LARAMIE – Cowgirls golf continues the spring schedule at the Thunderbird Invitational hosted by Southern Utah this Friday through Sunday at Sunbrook Golf Club in St. George, Utah.
Wyoming will be led by seniors Meghan Vogt and Kyla Wilde, the team's two highest finishers at the recent Wallace Women's Golf Classic in Palm Desert, Calif.

Junior Sophie Spiva, sophomore Kira Reisner and freshman Emerson Purcell round out the lineup. Two other Cowgirls, freshman Lucia Morelli and junior Grace Dunkleberger, will compete as individuals.
At the 2024 Thunderbird Classic, senior Jadan Gonzalez shared the individual trophy during a strong showing for UW.
"We always look forward to competing in this event with the past success we've had in the program," Cowgirls head coach Josey Stender said. "The golf course is unique, a fun style of target golf with some risk and reward."
The 12-team Thunderbird Classic field also includes Cal Bakersfield, Eastern Washington, Idaho State, Montana State, Northern Arizona, Stetson, Cal Riverside, Utah Tech, Utah Valley and Weber State.
"The start of the spring provided a lot of constructive feedback, individually and as a team," Stender said. "I think we have applied those things in a solid two weeks of practice."
UW will next compete at the Santa Clara Silicon Valley Showcase March 24-25 in Millbrae, Calif., before hosting the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic April 2-3 in Maricopa, Ariz.
