After a hard week, having the chance to check out live music and sip on a beer is a great way to unwind. You'll have that chance on Friday when Casper's newest Blues band hits the stage at Oil City Beer Company.

The four-member band was formed when Walt Hill reached out to a Facebook group to see if anyone would be interested in jamming the Blues. Before he knew it, the Black Powder Blues Band was formed, and he was having a great time playing Blues tunes by Jimi Hendrix, ZZ Top, and other legends of the genre.

Band member Walt Hill says the band came together pretty quickly and hit it off right away:

We got a good group together, it geled real fast and we're having a lot of fun. Playing a lot of good music.

When you put a band together, scheduling live shows is a great way to share your love of music with others. The Black Powder Blues Band will be hitting the stage for their first show of 2026, at Oil City Beer Company Friday at 7 pm. If you have a family, bring them with you because all ages are welcome.

Walt says this gig will be a great way to end the week.

When we get together to jam, we just really try to do the stuff that makes it fun for everybody so they can come out from their work week and have some beer and unwind and hear some good tunes, ya know.
