Ghost Hunters Explore the Cellar of Plains Hotel, Cheyenne
The Plains Hotel in Cheyenne, Wyoming, is one of the oldest hotels in the state. Also, one of the creepiest. But that's not a bad thing. That just makes staying there FUN!
Speaking of creepy, watch the video below as this couple takes us to the creepiest parts of the Plains. There are some spooky places that you DO NOT want to know about.
That includes the cellar. Who in their right mind would go down there? Don't worry, you don't have to. These people did it for you. You can just watch.
Opened in 1911, the Historic Plains Hotel is a landmark in downtown Cheyenne. Conceived by the Cheyenne Industrial Club and designed by architect William Duboise, it was originally built to host cattle barons, presidents, and celebrities. Today, the property is undergoing a multi-million-dollar restoration to preserve its architectural grandeur.
The Plains Hotel in Cheyenne, WY, is thought to be one of the most haunted sites in the Cowboy State. There is the story of "Rosie," a vengeful bride who shot her cheating husband and his lover, then turned the gun on herself.
Rosie is said to haunt the 4th-floor honeymoon suite (often referred to as Room 444). Staff and guests frequently report hearing unexplained crying and phantom laughter coming from the room. (US Ghost Adventures).
The groom and the woman he was with are also said to wander the property. The other woman is frequently reported on the 2nd floor, often seen wearing a short red dress with lace.
Employees and guests have reported unexplainable cold spots, feelings of being watched, being tapped on the shoulder, and encounters with "cowboy ghosts" and the ghost of a young girl named Emily.
