Weird Al Talks Polkamania On Wake Up Wyoming

Weird Al Yankovic is now 64 years old and he's still cranking out bizarre hits.

He called Wyoming's morning talk show Wake Up Wyoming and spoke about his career and his latest video.

Wake Up Wyoming is heard on several radio stations around the state, so Weird Al got plenty of coverage.

He was just doing parody songs that he figured were fun, but would never take him anywhere, that is until MTV came along

It was his Michael Jackson parody of the song "I'm Bad" which Al turned into "I'm Fat." MTV played the hell out of the song which really launched Weird Al's career.

That one hit made him a household name.

Soon he was cranking out more videos and taking his show on the road.

His road show is not just a concert. He acts out the songs that you've seen him perform in videos.

But these days MTV doesn't play music.

The only way to reach the public is through social media and live concerts.

Speaking of which, his latest video, which is what he called the show about, is below.

In this video, he takes some of today's biggest hit songs and plays them in polka style.

It's really disturbing.

But that's what we've come to expect from Weird Al.

While interviewing him I asked what I should call him. "Mr. Weird?"

"Like Paul Simon Says, you can call me Al."
