The Bear Creek Fire is at 90 percent containment with a footprint of 1444 acres.

That's according to a post on the Albany County Emergency Management Facebook page.

The post also reminds people that a pre-evacuation order that had been issued earlier has now been cancelled.

The agency posted the following:

The Bear Creek Fire is currently at 90% containment and the footprint remains at 1444 acres. Due to the increase in containment, the personnel remaining on scene has been reduced to 15.
The Pre-Evacuation Notice was cancelled yesterday, September 17th, 2024 and is NO LONGER IN EFFECT for the area of HWY 34 from Morton Pass on the West boundary to Albany County Road 12 on the East boundary to include all of Albany County Road 12.
Please continue to avoid the area and allow fire personnel to continue to work. Updates will be provided as we receive them.
