Comedian Chris Rock introduced Kanye West's new album at his listening party last weekend in Jackson and threw out a couple subtle jabs at Wyoming's lack of diversity.
With the #OscarsSoWhite controversy, all eyes where on 2016 Oscars host Chris Rock as he returned to add a little diversity to this year’s Academy Awards, and he did not disappoint.
Although some in the industry had called for Chris Rock to join the boycott of the 2016 Oscars, the actor and comedian will host the show as planned — though there will be some changes. Rock has reportedly tossed out much of his material in order to address the #OscarsSoWhite controversy that’s inspired Spike Lee, Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith to boycott the ceremony, while the Academy has announced a sweeping initiative to increase diversity.
We know, we know. A few weeks out from Halloween, and already Christmas specials are making their presence known. Still, we’re not ones to question Bill Murray, especially if the first promo for his star-studded, Sofia Coppola-directed Netflix special A Very Murray Christmas lives up to its promise.

We knew going in that the SNL 40th anniversary special would be chock-full of just about every famous person who has ever walked within spitting distance of 30 Rockefeller Plaza and the opening monologue was quick to make use of this genuinely insane temporary cast of stars. Comedian/actor/writer/director Chris Rock has already proven that he can do just about everything -- and do it pretty well, if his upcoming feature 'Top Five' is any indication -- but the funny man almost had another major career move bulleted on his resume. After the DJing came a deal for a rap record, which was made, but never released, a weird bit of trivia that Rock shared with Jimmy Fallon on 'The Tonight Show' last night.
Chris Rock: Comedian, actor, and now he can add director to his resume with 'Top Five,' a film that had plenty of people talking when it premiered at this year's film festival in Toronto. Paramount wasted no time picking the film up, and it seems like the studio is wasting very little time in getting Rock's very promising directorial debut out there as quickly as possible. Judging by the first trailer, featuring a cast of incredibly funny and talented folks, this is going to be delightful.
