If you missed Tom Petty at Red Rock Amphitheater last May like I did, it sounds like we missed an incredible show. Unfortunately, it would be the last time he would play the legendary Red Rocks. Tom Petty has died at 66.
But, thanks to YouTube and cell phones, we can still re-live the concert second-hand.
Wyoming doesn't get a ton of rock shows compared to other states, and maybe that's part of the reasons concert-goers go so nuts when one of their favorite bands finally comes to town.
California-based folk rocker Tom Freund has composed a song titled "Why Wyoming" that pays tribute to a fellow songwriter who was killed on a Wyoming highway.
A couple of Wyoming residents have created and posted a rap song that totally puts Cheyenne on blast... well, sort of.
The satirical tune from "Mint Flava" and "Goat Smuggler" is meant as a fun jab at the capital city. The rap pokes fun at Cheyenne's weather, Frontier Days, and the fragrance from the Holly Frontier Refinery...
There are plenty of songs about the West. There are plenty of songs about Wyoming. But how many of those songs are written by someone who came from Wyoming?
