Interstate 80 (I-80) runs from downtown San Francisco, California, to Teaneck, New Jersey. almost 200 miles of I-80 runs through Sweetwater County, Wyoming.

Think about the stress of a long trip that gets hit by a blizzard. Possibly thousands of miles from friends and family, a snow storm can be very scary.

When Thursday’s (2/23) winter blizzard shut down the highway at Green River with 5 – 7 inches of snow, residents there all had to deal with nature’s forces, but several locals also took time out to care for others. Green River Volunteer Firefighters set up 25 to 30 cots at the rec center for stranded travelers. Four others from local Emergency Management helped too.”

“Zeke and Bob brought soup, chili, crackers, granola bars, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and utensils. The local pizza hut also said they would bring pizza as needed, free of charge.” – wyo4news
