Black Sabbath's second album, 1970's Paranoid, is one of metal's most influential. It includes timeless songs such as the title track, "War Pigs" and "Iron Man." The band has now shared a video of the Sept. 24, 1970 performance of "Paranoid" on the U.K. show Top of the Pops that you can watch above.

A super deluxe edition of Paranoid was released earlier this month. It includes the 2012 remaster of the original album, a rare 1974 quad mix of the album folded down to stereo, plus two concerts from 1970 performed at Montreux and in Brussels. The four-disc set comes with a hardbound book with extensive liner notes featuring interviews with all four band members, rare photos, memorabilia, a poster and a replica of the tour book sold on the Paranoid trek.

In Loudwire's story about the Paranoid album, details were revealed about the title track. After the other seven songs were done, Sabbath wrote a song that was to serve as a single, and that of course, was "Paranoid."

“I sat there during the lunch break and came up with the main riff for ‘Paranoid,’ guitarist Tony Iommi said. “And then when the other guys came back I played it to them and they thought it was good, so we recorded that just as a filler.”

“We didn’t think anything of it because we thought it was just another song,” bassist Geezer Butler said. “And then later the record company said, ‘Hey guys, this is the best song on the album. Let’s call the record Paranoid.’”

Black Sabbath are currently in the midst of their farewell tour that wraps up next February. They play tonight in Curitiba, Brazil. For all their dates, go here.
