Casper police say the suspect involved in a Wednesday morning child abduction has been arrested and charged with felony kidnapping and second-degree sexual abuse of a minor.

The child involved in the abduction was recovered Wednesday and is now safe. There is no ongoing threat to the community.

The child was playing outside in the area of SW Wyoming Boulevard and South Coffman Avenue when they were taken by a suspect described as a white man in a black pickup truck at roughly 10:35 a.m.

Responding police officers arrived and found the child had already been returned to the area.

Police are prohibited by state law from releasing the name of anyone accused of a sex crime until that person is formally arraigned in district court.

Local, state and federal law enforcement agencies assisted with the investigation.
