The new Bruce Springsteen album will have social overtones, and will include “new textures and styles.” Rolling Stone reports that the rocker is nearly ready to unveil his 17th studio album and tour dates with the E Street Band. Information about the new single, “We Take Care of Our Own,’ has also been revealed.

“It was an experimental effort with a new producer,” Springsteen’s manager Jon Landau tells Rolling Stone. “Bruce and Ron (Aniello) used a wide variety of players to create something that both rocks and is very fresh.”

As previously reported, the project will feature Springsteen at his angriest, especially on a song focusing on economic justice. Landau says fans can also expect a “very pronounced spiritual dimension… it extends and deepens the vision that has animated all of Bruce’s work.”

As for a tour, Rolling Stone reports that the E Street Band has arenas booked beginning in March, including an Austin show around the South by Southwest festival. Official dates have yet to be announced, but the tour is expected to include spring and fall U.S. dates and a European summer leg.
