Casper Boy Life-Flighted After Near-Drowning at Birthday Party
A Casper boy was life-flighted to a Colorado hospital over the weekend after a reported near-drowning incident at a birthday party.
Jace Ferré, 7, was swimming in a pool at the Residence Inn when the incident occurred. It was reported as a drowning to the Casper Police Department at 5:45 p.m. Saturday, according to a police department incident log.
Tiffany Sells, a friend of the boy's mother, told K2 Radio News on Monday morning that Jace was life-flighted to Children's Hospital Colorado in Aurora, where he is set to be put into a medically-induced coma this afternoon.
Sells said that the boy suffered a severe head injury, though the extent of that injury will not be clear until he wakes up. Meanwhile, she said Jace is in stable condition.
A Facebook page called Prayers for Jace has been established, as has a GoFundMe page to assist with medical expenses.
A phone call to the Casper Fire-EMS Department seeking comment was not immediately returned on Monday morning. No further details were immediately available from the police.
