Saturday, May 10, 2013 Casper Letter Carriers will join Letter Carriers across Wyoming and the nation to collect food to feed our nations hungry. “STAMP OUT HUNGER” is the largest one day food drive nationwide. Last year Casper letter carriers collected 37,000 lbs. of non-perishable food for Natrona County food banks and caring organizations.

This food drive comes at a time when food banks are running out of holiday donations and the demand for food is increasing as kids are getting out of school for the summer. One in four children in the United States faces the prospect of going to bed hungry.

Casper Letter Carriers will deliver grocery bags before the drive. Just fill the bag with non-perishable food items like canned soup, juice, pasta, vegetables, cereal, rice, peanut butter, tuna fish, sugar, etc. and place by your mailbox on May 10, to help families in need in our community. Your Letter Carrier and a number of Girl Scout volunteers will pick up the food when they deliver your mail and then the food will be sorted by Wyoming Food Bank of the Rockies and distributed to over 43 hunger relief agencies here in Natrona County including organizations like Salvation Army, Joshua’s Storehouse, Meals on Wheels, Youth Crisis Center, Central Wyoming Rescue Mission and many others.
