Casper Man Charged with Attempted Murder, Kidnapping, Assault

The Casper man arrested for beating his ex-girlfriend with a hammer makes his initial court appearance.

LaShawn Sidney King was formally charged this afternoon for the alleged Friday night kidnapping and beating of his ex-girlfriend.

King faces an attempted premeditated first degree murder charge that carries a life without parole sentence if convicted. King was also charged with aggravated kidnapping-potential 20 year sentence- and two aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charges both of which have a 10 year maximum penalty. King’s bond was set at $250,000.
