A homeless man is accused of attacking a woman as they sat in his pickup truck, punching her and kicking her until she fell out of the vehicle.

Glenn A. Crissman, 48, was booked into jail on a charge of simple assault and battery.

Charging documents say a Casper police officer went to an apartment on East Fifth Street at about 8:15 p.m. Sunday to take a report of an alleged assault which occurred at 15th and Boxelder. The officer was told that the victim had been assaulted by Crissman, and had a fractured eye socket.

The victim said she and Crissman were friends, but had not been in a romantic relationship. They went to do laundry at a friend's house at about 8 p.m. Friday.

When they finished their laundry, the victim said, she and Crissman sat in his pickup. She was "messing around" with Crissman, poking and pretending to punch him. She said she simulated punching him with a "soft touch in a friendly, joking manner," and that action made Crissman very angry "for some reason," according to the police affidavit.

Crissman allegedly responded by punching the victim in the face about 19 times, the victim told police. He then allegedly kicked her in the legs and ribs, trying to kick her out of the vehicle. The victim ended up falling out of the truck, but was able to grab her belongings before Crissman drove off.

The victim told police Crissman didn't say anything to her before, during or after the alleged attack. She didn't call police initially, because she thought she only had a black eye. But the next morning, she realized she was more seriously injured and could not open her eye.

The victim went to Wyoming Medical Center for a CAT scan, and was reportedly told she had a fractured eye socket and bruised ribs. Officers photographed and documented the victim's injuries.

When interviewed, Crissman told police he and the victim had a record of assaults and had hit him first, punching him in the face and head with both fists. Crissman reportedly claimed to have hit the victim in the face one time.

Police noted Crissman had no bruises or other marks on his head, neck, face or hands. An officer "determined that Crissman obviously did more damage to [the victim's] face," the affidavit reads.

The officer elected to arrest Crissman, as he was homeless and it could not be guaranteed that Crissman could be found if he was issued a citation and missed court.
