Casper Police Officer Cited After Rear-Ending SUV Monday
A Casper police officer was cited following a fender-bender Monday morning.
The unnamed officer was cited for following too closely and will undergo safe driving training and will take steps to avoid future incidents according to a press release.
A Casper police officer was unable to stop in time Monday morning and collided with the rear of an SUV on First Street just east of E. Yellowstone Highway.
No injuries were reported in connection with the incident.
As a law enforcement agency cannot investigate itself, the Natrona County Sheriff's Office handled the investigation.
According to the release, the officer was responding to a call Monday at 11:26 a.m. when a vehicle ahead of the officer suddenly stopped to make way for pedestrians. The officer then hit the back of a vehicle in front of them.
