Casper Police have released the locations for their high visibility traffic enforcement for the week of February 12, 2018. Officer Darren Douglas will be conducting extra enforcement in the following areas.

  • School Zones around Summit Elementary School
  • School Zones around Sagewood Elementary School

Last week some Casper drivers apparently weren't paying attention. The count was up from the previous week with 42 traffic stops and issued 57 tickets in the school zones located around Centennial Middle School and Paradise Valley Elementary School. One driver, while getting a ticket, told the officer"I had no idea I was in a school zone", when they were pulled over while driving by the front of a school.

From the Casper Police Department:

"CPD is encouraging everyone in our community to be conscientious while driving through school zones. By advertising these school zones each week CPD is hopeful that individual’s habits and driving patterns will be altered while driving around our community. CPD would like to thank the drivers who obey each and every school zone in our community!"

A high volume of traffic complaints prompted the weekly extra enforcement efforts, which the Casper Police Department posts on their Facebook Page in an effort to make people more aware of their driving habits.

We will also post the enforcement locations each week, along with the results of those efforts.
