The quick actions of two Cheyenne police officers are being credited with saving the life of a stabbing victim.

Officers Chuhralya and Ryan were called to a stabbing in the 800 block of Central Avenue on December 19.

The two noticed the victim had a large cut on his calf and made a split-second decision to apply a tourniquet to stop the bleeding.

The officers' actions gave paramedics enough time to move the victim into the ambulance and get him to the hospital.

Chuhralya and Ryan will be presented with lifesaving awards tomorrow (Wednesday). The awards ceremony will be held at 5 p.m. at the Cheyenne Public Safety Center.
