Basically every musical style in the world can somehow be traced back to Blues. And, in my humble opinion, the granddaddy of the Blues scene is Robert Johnson.  Dude was a genius, and so before his time. The mythology behind him is super interesting too. Did he ACTUALLY go down to the crossroads and sell his soul to the devil? We'll never know. But his song, 'Crossoads,' is one of the greatest blues songs of all time. So it should come as no surprise that Eric Clapton and his band, Cream, would cover it. They did it over forty years ago, and it's still just as good! Check it out.
