Cowboy Football Spring Practice Nears Its End [VIDEO]
Spring practice is winding down at the University of Wyoming as the Spring Game nears this Saturday afternoon.
Coming off their second major scrimmage of spring practice on April 14, Cowboys’ head coach Craig Bohl had some nice things to say about the offensive line, running backs and quarterbacks after practice Tuesday, April 17. Bohl discussed the lack of depth at running back and starting over at that position to begin fall camp. He also talked about Tuesday’s practice and stressed that the Pokes will go outside for the Spring Game Saturday.
Coach Bohl provided an injury update Tuesday saying sophomore receiver Avante’ Cox has a sprained shoulder and his status for Saturday’s Spring Game is unknown. Bohl also said junior fullback Austin Lopez is out, and he’s questionable for Saturday. Redshirt freshmen running back Xazavian Valladay has a hand injury and is doubtful for the Spring Game.
The Spring Game starts at 2 p.m. from War Memorial Stadium in Laramie. There are numerous activities throughout the day. They include a merchandise sale from 11 a.m.-to-2 p.m. in War Memorial Fieldhouse, an Alumni Flag Football Game at 11 a.m., which is open to the public. Tailgating opens at 8 a.m. in the Ford Stadium lot and all parking is free. There will be concessions available, including beer and wine sales, plus a select-a-seat promotion, live interviews during the game and a post-game autograph session on the field following the Spring Game. UW is also hosting a “Call A Play During The Spring Game” contest at gowyo.com/callaplay.
