The Pedro Mountain Fire, burning east of Pathfinder Reservoir in Carbon County, is expected to be contained Sept. 15, according to a federal situation report.

Seven structures have been lost in the fire, which is listed at 19,525 acres and is 24 percent contained.

Currently there are 430 personnel, five helicopters and 34 engines on the fire that has cost $5 million as of Monday.

The increase in acreage is due primarily to successful burn operations along the south and east sides of the fire, according to an InciWeb press release.

Evacuations remain in place for Pedro Mountain Estates, Pedro Mountain Ranch Road and Cardwell Ranch.

Kortes road is closed from the intersection of Fremont Canyon south to Leo/Sage Creek until further notice.
