If you didn't get to look over the City of Casper's draft comprehensive plan last month, you'll have another chance on Wednesday, May 10th. Named "Generation Casper", it's both a document, and a guide. "It' a policy guide, it lays out the vision and goals that we have for the future for say, then to fifteen years," says Assistant City Planner Aaron Kloke. "It's a guide for future policies, future investments by the city, and for managing future growth."

Here's how the City of Casper describes the project:

"Generation Casper, the year-long process to update the City’s comprehensive plan, will outline the community’s vision and goals, recommend strategic initiatives, program and catalyst projects, and a plan to monitor and evaluate progress towards the community’s vision. The comprehensive plan is designed to be used by City leaders interested in guiding future services and programs and allocating future resources; residents curious about future neighborhoods, parks, roads, and community facilities; and business and property owners interested in land use recommendations, development policies, and city investments."

The draft can be reviewed one of three ways:

  • Attend the open house on Wednesday, May 10th at The Lyric from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm;
  • Download the entire draft plan pdf for review at generationcasper.com; or,
  • Take the online questionnaire at generationcasper.com and give feedback on the parts of the plan that are most important to you.

The public comment period ends May 19th. Wednesday's open house will be held at The Lyric, 230 W Yellowstone Highway, from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm. Everyone is welcome to join any time and at their convenience. Snacks and drinks will be provided.
