What You Need To Know About Wyoming’s AIS Decal Requirements
If you plan to use any floating device in Wyoming waters, you'll need an AIS decal. Not only that, but if you are heading to the water and pass an inspection location, you'll need to stop and get a quick inspection. Especially if you're coming to Wyoming from out of state and plan to launch a boat.
For your convenience, there are border check stations, certified inspection locations, WGFD regional offices, and private inspection locations all around Wyoming.
One of the locations that will see changes for the AIS checkstation location is Glendo State Park and the Glend Reservoir. In previous years, you would know the check station as soon as you entered the town of Glendo; you would see the signs and be able to pull in before you headed to the water.
AIS species supervisor Eric Hansen says:
We appreciate the public's continued support and cooperation as we work to implement these changes. Our goal is to provide efficient and convenient inspection services while protecting Wyoming's waters from aquatic invasive species.
You'll have to work a little harder to find the check station.
During the early season, the check station is near the Bennett Hill boat ramp; later this year, it will move to Whiskey Gulch.
The house of operation for the Glendo check station at Bennet Hill Ramp:
- 4/3/25 - 11/15/25
- 6:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Thursday - Sunday
