Get To Know Natrona County’s Emergency Teams At The 5th Annual Expo

Here are some wild facts for you... In 2025, Casper-Natrona County, Wyoming's public safety communications center (911) took 26,348 emergency calls. That is roughly 72 emergency calls per day. On top of that, they took over 103,000 non-emergency calls. For a grand total of 129,439 calls in 2025.

For reference, Natrona County has an estimated 80,781 residents. So, about 1/3 of the county's population made an emergency call in a year. These emergencies come from all over the county and are routed to police departments, the Sheriff's Office, EMS, fire departments, Animal Services, or other agencies.

Imagine if emergency crews weren't standing by during those critical early moments of an emergency.

That's wild to think about, right?

Thankfully, multiple first-responding agencies are on standby, so when that call comes, they can jump into action at a moment's notice.

September is National Emergency Preparedness Month, and Natrona County Emergency Management is holding the 5th Annual Emergency Response Expo on Saturday, September 5, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The event is free and open to the public at the South Parking Lot of the Eastridge Mall in Casper.

The event promotes awareness and education about emergency preparedness. Citizens of all ages are encouraged to attend, engage with local public safety professionals, explore response equipment, and learn how agencies throughout Natrona County prepare for and respond to critical incidents.
