The mission of Casper's Iris Clubhouse is simple:

Empowering people with mental illness to engage in meaningful, sustainable and transformative personal relationships and community partnerships.

One in twenty-five adults live with a mental health issue, and one in twenty experience serious mental illness each year. Since 2017, the Casper area has had the Iris Clubhouse, which helps improve life for those folks. Many who are living with mental health issues will live life by themselves because their illness has affected their relationships with family, friends, and even coworkers.

That's where the Iris Clubhouse steps in to help.

The Clubhouse is a community of adults who have an opportunity to come together and work to achieve their goals of leading the life they desire. Through the program, individuals are given resources to make friends and find jobs, housing, and even education in a safe and comfortable environment.

Over the years, thanks to Clubhouse programs like the Iris Clubhouse, hospitalizations and run-ins with law enforcement have significantly reduced, showing that the program is a much-needed resource for the Casper Community.

If you or a loved one would benefit from the services offered at Iris Clubhouse, you can find information at IrisClubhouse.org.

The Iris Clubhouse is a referral-based program, and Executive Director Rebecca Reeves explains the process.

A doctor or a psychiatrist can refer you to the Clubhouse. We have our referral form right on our website on the new members tab. People can also just come in and check the Clubhouse out and do a tour. They don't necessarily have to have the referral first thing, but we are a referral based program and will pursue that referral eventually.

To become a member of the Clubhouse, there are a few things you'll need :

  • Be interested in attending the Clubhouse, as membership is voluntary
  • Have a diagnosed mental illness or be willing to seek a diagnosis
  • Not pose a threat to the community
  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Fill out an Iris Clubhouse Application
  • A completed psychiatric attestation form from the website irisclubhouse.org, signed by a licensed LCSW, NPP, PSYD, MD, PA, LHMC, or LMSW (cosigned by a supervising licensed professional)
  • We strongly encourage the inclusion of supporting psychiatric and psychosocial evaluations to facilitate our membership review process further.
  • Copies of all Health Insurance cards (please note, however, membership is free of charge)
