The annual Mule Deer Foundation of Wyoming banquet is coming on January 31st, at The Hangar in Bar Nunn, and you're invited to join the festivities to support mule deer conservation in Wyoming.

Hunters, conservationists, and anyone who enjoys seeing mule deer in Wyoming know there is a significant concern about the species' well-being and future. If you're a numbers person, the decline has been quite substantial over the last 35 years, with the Wyoming mule deer population falling from a historic level of around 578,000 in 1991 to just over 200,000 today.

The rise of CWD, harsh winters, and habitat loss are all contributors to the decline of mule deer populations, but because of the work put in by the Wyoming Game and Fish Department and conservation organizations like the Mule Deer Foundation, there have been signs of recovery in numbers.

Funds raised at events like the annual banquet go toward projects that improve the quality of life for mule deer and other wildlife in the state. Habitat restoration, fencing projects, fire prevention, and water access have all been supported in Wyoming through funds raised.

The banquet will feature a hearty dinner, raffles, opportunities to win firearms and other prizes, and a live and silent auction, while mingling and interacting with other wildlife enthusiasts to help conservation of mule deer and their habitat across the state.

Dinner tickets are available in advance at different price points for various levels.  A single dinner ticket starts at $75 for adults and $20 for kids 5-17. Couple's dinner tickets are $110, and sponsorship packages begin at $350. Purchase your tickets before January 22, and you'll receive an entry from a 9mm.
