Join The Fun At This Year’s Police Week Block Party
If I were to start a list of the toughest jobs, my number one would be a Police Officer. My dad was a Cop for thirty years, and through the years I saw and heard how difficult the career is.
It takes a special person to decide to serve and protect the public. One of the toughest parts is that an officer chooses to do the job, and people love to criticize and, in some situations, do everything in their power to make their job tougher. In many of those situations, that particular person had a bad experience with an officer at some point in their life and never got rid of that bad taste.
That's why I find it important for police departments to have events that give them an opportunity to connect with the community and help them realize that police officers are there to help.
In Natrona, we have one of those cool events coming to David Street Station in May. Law Enforcement Agencies from across Natrona County will participate in the 5th Annual Police Week Block Party on Wednesday, May 13, from 5 - 7 p.m.
This year’s event will include a free BBQ served by department leadership from agencies across the county, along with a live DJ, games for kids, face painting, and giveaways throughout the evening. Patrol vehicles and specialized equipment will also be on display, giving residents a chance to take a closer look and ask questions.
The event is designed to support continued engagement between law enforcement and the community, reinforcing the importance of communication, visibility, and strong working relationships that contribute to public safety across Natrona County.
