What is a primary election?

This is the election in which the parties select the candidate they want to represent them in the general election on November 3.

I'm sure you've heard radio commercials or seen them on TV where candidates are selling themselves to Wyomingites. When they do this at this time of year, they're trying to tell you that they want to be the candidate in the general election and that they're the best fit for Wyoming.

When the general election rolls around in November, many positions will be on the ballot, and the primary will decide which candidates will be on it.
