Roam Through Wyoming’s Forgotten Ghost Towns And Their Haunting Stories
A popular YouTube explorer has been exploring some Wyoming ghost towns.
"In May 2025 I drove around Wyoming checking out some ghost towns and abandoned places.
Here is a link to the map of all places visited in this video.
Ghost Towns."
In this latest video, he starts with Gebo. Another old Wyoming mining town that's been abandoned.
Gebo is located about 11 miles north of Thermopolis.
Established in 1907 as a coal mining town.
In recent years, the town has been visited by several ghost-hunting groups.
At its peak, it was home to over 2000 people.
The mine collapsed in 1938.
You can watch this travel video below.
From Gebo, we move on to Jay Em, Wyoming, population 76.
Located about 35 miles north of Torrington.
This little town has decided to preserve some of its favorite buildings from the past.
Jay Em also sits on the historic Texas Cattle Driving route.
It's worth the visit.
Next, our host moves on to Miners Delight.
In a beautiful spot near the Continental Divide in central Wyoming, Miner's Delight is a silent witness to the heyday of Wyoming's gold mining era.
One of the state's earliest communities--gold was discovered there in 1868--the BLM-managed ghost town yields important clues about the early history of Wyoming and the gold mining culture.
There is a rugged walking path through the site, an interpretive kiosk at the entrance, and interpretive panels within the site. It is not ADA accessible.
Next, we go to Shawnee, Wyoming, population 5, and then on to Arminto, population 15.
Arminto is located west of Casper and will be missed if you are not paying attention as you drive.
In 1913, it was established as a railroad town.
There is a lot of junk in Arminto.
