Wyoming’s Radio Talk Host Found Living In Back Of SUV
Wyoming's radio talk show host Glenn Woods was found sleeping in the back of his SUV near the grass airstrip in Glendo, Wyoming.
That's an all-time low for a guy who's heard on radio stations across Wyoming and around the region.
He spent the entire weekend there and refused to leave.
This embarrassing photo of the radio host was published, on the front page, of the Platte County Record Times, one of the few printed newspapers left in Wyoming.
OKAY- Most of what you just read is an exaggeration.
That's a picture of ME- Glenn Woods.
YES, I was sleeping in the back of my vehicle.
But I was camping, along with the rest of the people at the Glendo Wyoming Fly-In.
As we zoom out of the photo we see Wyoming artist and photographer Tim Mandese sitting next to me. He was also camping there that weekend.
Tim was trying to look miserable on purpose.
It was cold that morning. That's why we were all bundled up.
Randy Bell, a photographer from the Platte Record Times saw us sitting there and thought a picture of us would get a good laugh.
This might be the last time my face makes a printed newspaper since most news today has gone online.
Below is a look at the headline.
I made the front page.
Special thanks to Lisa Phelps of the Record Times for writing up such a glowing review of this year's Glendo Fly-In.
The fly-in is held every year, under the trees, at the little grass airstrip in Glendo Wyoming.
Pilots from all over the region come to camp, fly, and wow those who show up just to watch local pilots having fun.
It's also a great time to get an up-close look at these wonderful airplanes.
Each year the tiny town of Glendo, Wyoming, located next to the beautiful Glendo reservoir, hosts a weekend of airplanes and camping.
This year, the fly-in was back in full force, with a pilot game that put on quite a show for fans from all over.
Some folks spent the day.
Some folks camped all weekend.
Some brought their own food others lined up to enjoy what was served.
Lawn chairs were placed under the trees and folks looked up over the grass runway to watch pilots compete in games like the balloon pop.
That's where a black balloon is launched and the pilots fly by and try to pop it in the air with their propellers.
Then there is the flower bag drop from the plane to hit a target on the ground.
Toys are dropped for kids.
There are low flybys and formation flying throughout the day.
This also seems to be a dog convention and pooches run around and play with canine friends they have not seen since last year.
Folks are welcome to walk the plane parking area and look closely at the aircraft they have been watching overhead.
The pilots are eager to talk aviation with them.
Some visitors even got rides.
Next year will be the 20th anniversary of the Glendo Fly-in.
