Cheyenne Man Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries After Hit by Truck
An 86-year-old Cheyenne man suffered life-threatening injuries when he was hit by a truck Thursday evening in northeast Cheyenne, police say.
Public Information Officer Alex Farkas says officers were called to the scene near the intersection of North College Drive and Magnolia Drive at 6:11 p.m.
"Preliminary details show the man attempted to cross North College in an unlit area," Farkas said in a news release Friday morning.
"While crossing, he walked into the path of an oncoming truck," she added. "The driver swerved but was unable to avoid the collision."
Farkas says the pedestrian was taken to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, but didn't have any details beyond that.
She says the truck driver, also from Cheyenne, showed no signs of impairment and remained on the scene to assist officers with their investigation.
This is the 2nd Collision on North College Drive This Week
It was just five days ago that 26-year-old Cheyenne resident Tristan Martinez was hit by an SUV while riding his bicycle on North College Drive.
He was life-flighted to a Colorado hospital, where he died two days later.
