
Fatal Shooting Of Wyoming Suspect By Law Enforcement Investigated
A fatal shooting of a suspect who was being pursued by Uinta County Sheriff's Deputies and the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force is under investigation, according to a release from the Uinta County Sheriff's Office.
Shooting Followed a Foot Chase Of The Suspect
According to a release from the sheriff's office, the incident happened shortly before 3 p.m. on Wednesday as the deputies were helping the task force serve a warrant on a wanted person. The suspect tried to run away, leading to a foot chase. The release says that was followed by a "brief interaction" after the suspect ran into a building.
The release says law enforcment fired their weapons during the altercation. The release does not say who fired the shots or how many shots were fired. But it does say that no law enforcement personell or residents of the area were injured.
The suspect was rushed to Evanston Regional Hospital, where the person died from the injuries. The release does not identify the suspect.
The deputies involved have been placed on administrative leave. The Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation has been asked to look into the incident.
