After six years of sniffing out bombs, K-9 Teca with the Laramie County Sheriff's Office has retired.

According to a department Facebook post, Teca has severe arthritis in her shoulders, and even though she is being treated for the condition, it was decided that no longer working would be the best thing for her long-term health.

Teca served alongside many high-level officials in her time with the Sheriff's Office and was awarded "K-9 of the Year" early in her career.

She had more than 600 hours of training in explosives detection and was deployed 152 times.

"Teca provided explosive detection for President Trump when on his campaign trail, and swept the 'Big Boy' steam train before the Governor of Wyoming could board," the post reads.

"Teca cleared the State Capitol building after the renovations were complete, and she provided explosive coverage for Cheyenne Frontier Days for six years, making it a safe place for all the fans," the post goes on to say.

The Sheriff's Office says Teca will enjoy her retirement living at home with her family.
