Jackson Hole is the first city in the state of Wyoming to pass an ordinance that bans grocery stores from using single-use plastic at the point of purchase.

Several national and statewide news outlets have reported that the ban is set to go into effect for large grocery retailers April 15th, 2019 and for smaller stores in November. The ordinance will also require stores to charge twenty cents for each paper or reusable plastic bag. Those monies will be evenly split between the retailer and the town.

Jackson Hole mayor Pete Muldoon stated to Buckrail:

This is a big step that will cause some short-term pain. I understand that. But I think it is necessary pain and I believe the reward will be worth it.

How do you think this ordinance will affect Casper in the immediate future, if at all?
