Llama Lost in Yellowstone Has Been Found Safe

I have good news to report from Yellowstone National Park. A lost llama has been found and is in good condition.

I have to admit that when I think of Yellowstone, grizzly bears and elk come to mind, but not llamas. Buckrail shared a story a few days ago about a llama that was lost near Shoshone Lake this past summer. According to their report, that inspired Susi Huelsmeyer-Sinay to help locate and save the lost llama.

Susi's efforts were successful and the llama named Ike is now back in the safe hands of his handlers according to Buckrail's follow-up story. You would have to think that Ike's chances at survival wouldn't have been good for long since winters in Yellowstone can be harsh and he could easily have ended up on the wrong end of a grizzly lunch as they prepare for hibernation.

I didn't fully understand how common llamas are in Yellowstone. It makes sense when you think about it since llamas are legendary pack animals and are fairly low maintenance while hauling your gear.
