He played baseball in Wyoming, helped a collegiate team win the national championship, and now his skills have caught the attention of 1 pro team.

Marvin Malone (2014 Douglas HS grad), was selected in the 16th round of the 2018 Major League Baseball draft, by the Tampa Bay Rays.

Malone played Legion Baseball with the Douglas Cats (last year was 2014).

He then played 2 years for Colby Community College in Kansas, and then played 2017 and 2018 at Southeastern University, located in Lakeland, Florida.

Back on May 31st, 2018, the Fire won the NAIA National Championship in Lewiston, Idaho, with Malone playing in right field.

They went 59-7 on the season, and this was their first appearance in the NAIA World Series.

During the 2018 season, Malone had a .360 batting average, with 73 hits in 60 games, including 16 home runs and 61 RBI's.

He was named to the 2018 NAIA World Series All-Tournament team.
