The Natrona County Public Library announced the three finalists for the director's job on Monday, according to a news release.

The public will have the opportunity to meet them later this week and early next week at the library at 307 E. Second St., library spokesman Nathan McGregor said.

The finalists are Linda Gens Lyshol, director of the Ketchikan Public Library in Ketchikan, Alaska; Lisa Scroggins, director of the Claud H. Gilmer Memorial Library in Rocksprings, Texas; and Thomas Vose, director of Palmdale City Library in Palmdale, Calif.

All candidates have a master's degree in library science. The salary range for the position is between $85,000 and $99,800, depending on experience and qualifications.

The director will replace Bill Nelson, who retired last year.

The library director search committee has scheduled tours and in-person candidate interviews for Lyshol and Scroggins on Wednesday and Thursday, and for Vose on Monday, Feb. 29.

The library also will host community meetings with Lyshol and Scroggins at 6 p.m. Wednesday, and with Vose at noon Monday.

The search committee plans to make an offer to a candidate in early March, and hopes the new director will be in place by early April.

These are the candidates:

Linda Gens Lyshol has an extensive military background, and moved to Ketchikan five years ago. She is an administrator of a consortium of collections in the public schools, the University of Alaska Southeast campus library, and the Ketchikan Public Library. Lyshol oversaw the construction and move of the city’s new library from a combined library/museum building. She also directed the Guthrie, Okla., Public Library, worked as a consultant for the Oklahoma Department of Libraries, and was a librarian for the Metropolitan Library System in Oklahoma City.

Lisa Scroggins is a former classroom educator and school district business manager. She has served on several Texas State Library and Archives Commission advisory committees. She currently serves on their Community Engagement and Advisory Committee, and was one of two librarians called upon to represent the state in a multi-state volunteer initiative led by the California State Library. In 2012-2013, Scroggins  served as an assistant principal in the local school district.

Thomas Vose has been the director of the Palmdale City Library since 2013. He has significantly restructured the collection and internal arrangement of the library. Other projects include the Library Techmobile. He is also interested in microlibraries, embedded librarianship and other innovative outreach models.
