You don't always expect jazz to come from the Cowboy State, but it does. Take Saxophonist Mario Feraud for example. He is a Natrona County High School band Alumni, who is cutting his teeth as a young musician while giving back to Casper.

Mario attended the University of Denver for musical performance and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in music. After graduation, Mario was given an incredible offer to play Jazz music overseas in Scotland. After six months his visa expired, and he decided to come back to his hometown and spread not only his love for music but all of the things he has learned in his time away from his home.

Starting November 5th, Mario and students from the NCHS Concert Jazz Band will be performing live at the Gaslight Social. Come out and support your local high school students, and help give jazz music a whole new light in Casper.

This event will help support the school’s band with financial needs throughout the year. Mr. Weis offers all members of the group the opportunity to travel around the United States and visit extraordinary places such as Powder River, Greeley, all the way to Carnegie Hall in New York.
