Rocky Mountain Power Foundation Donates $10K to Casper’s David Street Station
Casper's Downtown Development Authority announced Monday a $10,000 donation by Rocky Mountain Power to fund work on the David Street Station.
"Rocky Mountain Power and their charitable Foundation truly are partners in our great community," Kevin Hawley, executive director of the DDA, said in a statement. "We are honored to accept this generous donation and eager to reinvest it back into the community through what is truly a civic project -- David Street Station."
Phase one construction is currently underway. Set for completion in August, the first phase will include a band shell, walkways, lighting and landscaping.
Phase two will begin this summer, featuring a free splash pad, pop-up performance area, vendor space, restrooms and an observation deck.
"We are pleased to support the Downtown Development Authority with this donation from our Foundation," said Rocky Mountain Power Regional Business Manager Leslie Blythe. "As part of this community, Rocky Mountain Power is grateful for all the work the program does in the Casper area."
The Rocky Mountain Power foundation was created by PacifiCorp in 1988 as part of the PacifiCorp Foundation. PacifiCorp is an electric utility serving 1.8 million customers in six western states as Rocky Mountain Power and Pacific Power.
