Fear the top hat, Slash is back! The legendary former Velvet Revolver and Slash’s Snakepit guitarist announced the May 22 release of his second studio album, ‘Apocalyptic Love’ on his own Dik Hayd International label.

The album comes shortly after the April 14 induction of his first band, Guns N’ Roses, into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame, at which all five original members are expected to be in attendance.

As opposed to the cast of guest musicians that performed on 2010′s ‘Slash,’ the new release spotlights the band that appeared on his ‘Made In Stoke 24/7/11′ album, which won Ultimate Classic Rock’s Best Live Album award last year. ‘Apocalyptic Love’ features vocalist Myles Kennedy, who co-wrote all the songs with Slash, Brent Fitz on drums and bassist Todd Kerns. One aspect from ‘Slash’ remains, Eric Valentine, who has previously worked with Third Eye Blind, Smash Mouth and Queens Of The Stone Age, produced the record.

To promote the album, Slash and his band will headline a brief U.S. tour beginning May 3 in Baltimore. Dates and pre-sale information can be found at his website.
