It’s that time of the year again. Temperatures are cooling, leaves are falling and garage sales are calling! Admittedly, I’m not much of an animal lover. I love my dog, my sister’s dog, and my girlfriend’s mother (Huzzah!). Other than that, animals don’t really do anything for me. That being said, when I came across the petting zoo at the Central Wyoming Fair and Rodeo, I was like a little kid.

With numerous rides, games, displays, prizes and choices of food, the CWFR continues to prove why it is the destination hot spot for Casper in July. Saturday, July 23 – Casper’s A’Salt Creek Roller Girls are back in action vs. the Billings Roller Derby Dames – it’s “Red, White & Bruised” at the Fairgrounds Industrial Building! Get in to win some of the exclusive “A’Salt Seats” – so close you might end up with a Roller Girl in your lap.
The A'Salt Creek Roller Girls had one heckuva Memorial Day weekend. On Saturday, they utterly domintated the Rushmore Rollerz and the Madhouse Madams, scoring well into 3 figures in each game. This double header was about as rough neck and hard hitting as it can get.
The Central Wyoming Fairgrounds Arena in Casper will provide a venue as the Central Wyoming Kennel Club along with the American Kennel Club host a two-day dog show competition. Competitions amongst dogs and their handlers include a conformation competition, herding, obedience, rally trials and junior showmanship.
