Local residents in Casper faced a recent power outage due to emergency de-energization by Rocky Mountain Power.

There is currently a power outage that is affecting Rocky Mountain Power customers in Casper and Mills, affecting over 24,000 people.

Power outage for nearly 8,000 to begin the final Friday of spring

There is currently a power outage that is affecting Rocky Mountain Power customers on the east side of Casper, near the Kelly Walsh High School area.

Often times we go through our daily lives and miss out on some of the wonders and beauty that are right under our noses.

Winds hit 86 mph at roughly 4 a.m. Tuesday, according to the weather service website.

More than 2,000 are without power as of 5 p.m. Tuesday, according to Rocky Mountain Power.

High winds are in the forecast for at least the next day.

The outages come as Casper's still-green trees are laden with snow from a winter storm that's moving through Wyoming.
