Longtime Toronto Blue Jays fan and soon-to-be Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Geddy Lee will take the mound on Tuesday (April 2) to throw the ceremonial first pitch at the Blue Jays' home opener. The Rush bassist and singer is a season ticket holder and dedicated fantasy baseball player.

Leave it to legendary Canadian band Rush to change things up even after all these years. After having performed live as a trio for the past 40-plus years, the group has brought a string section to join them on stage for their 'Clockwork Angels' world tour, and they are enjoying having the extra manpower on stage.

The Velvet Underground and Rush -- as disparate classic rock bands as you can find - will nonetheless soon find themselves on the same album. Both groups will be featured on the soundtrack to 'The Lords of Salem,' a new film by Rob Zombie.

They don't have a reputation for being the most tie-in-hungry rock band out there (cough), but the guys in Rush have enough of a sense of humor to sign off on the occasional oddball licensed product. Case in point: Rush bobblehead dolls.

One of many things that makes Rush so consistently rewarding is that they stick with what they do well --  more than likely, Geddy Lee won't form an electronic side project any time soon, and it's a safe bet Alex Lifeson won't switch over to steel guitar. According to Newton's law, bodies in motion tend to stay in motion -- and that also applies to Canadian power trios, as evidenced by Rush's decision to add another 15 dates to its already-extended Clockwork Angels tour.

Foo Fighters bandmates Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins will induct Rush into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this April, during a ceremony in Los Angeles, Calif. A press release at RockHall.com also revealed who will induct Albert King, Randy Newman and Donna Summer, but didn't mention what artist will do the honors for Heart or Public Enemy.

Rush has added nine new 'Clockwork Angels' tour dates in North America, in order to satisfy high demand. After mounting a successful 2012 tour and releasing an acclaimed album of the same name last June, the band will visit venues in Florida, Texas, Tennessee and states along the East Coast, with more American and Canadian dates to be announced soon.

Future Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees Rush will release a DVD chronicling their recent 'Clockwork Angels' tour on May 21. The news comes courtesy of the Rush Is a Band fan site.

The guys in Rush already had big plans for 2013, what with that whole Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction thing coming up in April and all -- but it's far from the only place that fans can look for the members of the band this year.

Among the 2013 inductees for the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame are prog-rockers "Rush", and classic rock sister act, "Heart".

At long last, Rush has made it into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The Canadian rockers -- who along with Kiss were the two most debated qualifiers of recent years -- join five other acts to be honored at the April 18, 2013 ceremony in Cleveland. Fan vote overwhelmingly favored Geddy Lee and company, although it appears that didn't weigh too heavily into the Hall of Fame's selections.
