Wyoming isn't well known for producing basketball stars, but that doesn't mean they don't exist.

There is only one player currently active on an NBA roster that was born in Wyoming and that is James Johnson.

James Patrick Johnson was born in Cheyenne on February 20th, 1987. He attended Cheyenne East High School, where he averaged 28 points and 9 rebounds per game during his senior year.

Johnson was drafted 16th overall in the first round of the 2009 NBA draft by the Chicago Bulls. He currently plays the forward position for the Miami Heat.

In addition to his many basketball accolades, Wikipedia reports that Johnson holds a second-degree black belt in karate and fought in his first mixed martial arts bout at age 18. He has an undefeated record in seven MMA matches, while also holding a 20–0 record in kickboxing matches.
