****July 2022 UPDATE****

Engineers are still fairly confident the bridge will be in use for traffic by the end of 2022. The final beams have been placed, retaining walls on each end are nearing completion and crews are preparing for concrete. It's exciting to see the project coming together.

These type of projects aren't easy or quick. If you drive by the worksite on a daily basis, you may notice certain parts changing. If you're like many of us and only drive by there once in a while, it may not seem like they're getting anything done. Trust me, the progress is noticeable and you can scroll your way through the process and see the changes.

If you've missed the road work happening on I-25 around Walsh Drive, you don't get out much. You may not travel in that direction so you can avoid any headaches that come with roads being detoured and that's understandable. I like to drive that way and take a peek at the work being done.

The work began back in early summer then the I-25 bridge was destroyed in August of 2021 and the work is underway but will not be completed until 2023.

Luckily if you're rolling on I-25 and come to the construction area, they've done a great job of re-routing traffic so you don't even have to stop your driving flow. The speed limit is greatly reduced so you need to pay attention and be aware of your surroundings.

Even if you take Yellowstone Highway, there is construction traffic and speed zones. Evansville PD, Casper PD and Wyoming Highway Patrol are monitoring traffic and speed, so pay attention when traveling in this area. No reason to get a ticket or hurt someone because you're in a hurry and not aware of your surroundings.

It's hard to pay attention to the road, cars in front and behind you and still see what they're working on at the site. I've decided that once in a while I'll give you a view of some of the work that's been done. Scroll down to see if you can notice the progress.

11/15 Update:

Over the last couple months you can definitely tell there is working being done. All of the remnants from the old bridge have been removed, moving and leveling of dirt has been done and concrete work on the East side Abutment (which provides support for the bridge and keeps the dirt under approach from moving) has been done.

You can also see that there are multiple "Piles" being made of concrete that will support the load of the bridge. It's quite the slow process and weather will only slow it down.

11/29/21 Update:

According the WYDOT Engineer Brooke Allen, the project is running on schedule and is still projected to be finished in June of 2023. Columns are still being poured with work to begin on the bent caps on the east side of the structure by Ames Construction.

Since the last update 2 weeks ago, you can see quite a bit of change in the worksite. It's definitely a slow process, but looking at the pictures, you can see visual changes. Including steel beams added to the concrete piles with another beam ready to go up.

12/28/21 UPDATE:

December has been a very surprising weather month with very little snow or precipitation to slow down the work on the I-25 Bridge work in Casper. The bridge construction is on schedule and hasn't been delayed hardly at all. If you scroll down, you'll see the progression of the bridge work. The concrete pillars are being shaped and poured with only a few remaining to be constructed.

***February 2022 UPDATE:

Having waited to give you an update for about a month and a half, you can see some big changes in the work that has been taken place since December.

Weather has actually been playing in the favor of the construction crews working on site. Since the last update, you can see many new concrete pillars, cross members placed and poured.

The work has been moving along nicely. Check out the latest progress report.

****March 2022 UPDATE****

The days are getting longer and the work on the I-25 bridge is progressing nicely. There is still over a years worth of work until the project will be completed, but I find it really interesting to watch the progress and compare see the month to month comparison.

The construction continues and will for quite some time on the bridge work. The winter months are difficult for workers, especially in Wyoming. Snow, wind and cold are problematic on outdoor projects. The progress of this particular project is noticeable for sure.

***APRIL 2022 I-25 Bridge Update***

The longer days are allowing crews to up their workload and compared to our March update, the picture is changing. At this point you can visualize how the bridge layout is going to be and what the idea is. Who knows how far they'll get within the next month, but you can be assured we're going to show you.

****May 2022 Casper I-25 Bridge Update****

More LARGE beams have been put in place and work on the road before and after the bridge is underway.

***June 2022 I 25 Bridge Update

The project is said to be finished by June of 2023 and with one year to go it's moving right along. There have been some delays from weather and waiting for steel, but WYDOT Engineer Brooke Allen says "traffic will be resumed to normal flow on the interstate by the end of the year, if all goes well".
