On Veterans Day, our nation honors those who have honored us with their sacrifice and service to keep America the land of the free and home of the brave.

Retailers and restaurants salute our military heroes, offering freebies and discounts on Tuesday to veterans, active duty and retired U.S. military, National Guard and reservists.

In some cases, offers are good more than one day, and spouses, family members and civilians are included, as noted.

Don't forget your military identification to take advantage of these terrific offers.

You certainly won't go hungry. There are free options for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
