Vince Neil to Host Air Force Salute in Las Vegas
Vince Neil is supporting the troops in his own special way.
The Motley Crue frontman will "salute the brave men and women of the U.S. Air Force" on Sept. 1 by inviting 100 soldiers from the nearby Nellis base to his Tatuado Cantina for a private pre-show reception, followed by a trip to see the Raiding the Rock Vault show at the LVH Las Vegas Hotel & Casino.
Purporting to tell "the story of classic rock" with "members from some of the greatest rock bands in history," Raiding the Rock Vault features a band that includes Tracii Guns, former Survivor vocalist Robin McAuley, ex-Heart guitarist Howard Leese and former Asia bassist John Payne -- along with special guests such as Bobby Kimball (ex-Toto), Joe Lynn Turner (ex-Deep Purple) and Starship's Mickey Thomas. The show is currently midway through a scheduled yearlong engagement at LVH.
"Vince has been a long time supporter and admirer of those who defend us from the skies," reads a press release announcing the event. "[He] wanted to take this opportunity to give back to those brave aviators who protect and defend our freedom in the air every day."
