Wyoming Parks Need Your Help. Volunteer. Great exercise, you meet the best people, and our parks will be better for your help.

Paul Gritten told me about Curt Gowdy Volunteer Day, saying:

“We are hosting our final volunteer day of the year at Curt Gowdy State Park. Saturday SEPT 20, 2014.  We will be doing a reroute on Mo Rocka.  This will eliminate a steep section of trail and actually make it a bit more fun and scenic.  We would really like to have a great turn out for this event so we can finish this trail this fall. Especially since the first Volunteer day was cancelled.

We will be meeting at Camp Russell group shelter at 9am and will wrap up the work site at 3pm.  Camp Russell is just after the Granite Fee Booth (top of hill on left).  It is just past the boat ramp entrance. Bicycle Station will be sponsoring the day by providing us with a late lunch.

We are asking that volunteers pack a lunch/snack to get them through the day.  Lunch will be served about 3:30 to 3:45 back at the group shelter.  This should leave plenty of time for people to get a ride/hike in before dark.

Please let us know if you plan on attending so we may plan for adequate food.  This is really important.

If you can't make this volunteer day, GOOD NEWS, we have the final Glendo volunteer day October 4th.  If you have never been to Glendo and have seen their trails yet, this would be a great opportunity to recreate and volunteer at Glendo State Park. More details on this will be announced at a later date.”

Wyoming Parks Need Your Help. Volunteer. Great exercise, you meet the best people, and our parks will be better for your help. Paul has duties as long as the trails he oversees (Wyoming State Parks, Historic Sites & Trails, Non-Motorized Trails Program Manager) and needs your help. Let’s do this.
